So is Swagbucks a Scam?

Swagbucks is an online rewards program that enables its users to earn rewards by building up a virtual currency called “Swagbucks.”

Once you’ve earned enough of these “Swagbucks” which is roughly around 1 US Cent for each Swagbuck you’re then entitled to redeem them in the form of Amazon Gift Vouchers, PayPal cash, etc. at their famous “swag store”.

There are many ways in which you can earn Swagbucks that include online surveys, playing games, shopping and also through their referral program and sweepstakes draw program.

The most well known of all of the methods is use their search engine instead of Google and the others, and they will reward you for Swagbucks just for that in itself!

The Pros and Cons – Are Swagbucks worth your time?

The Pros:

  • It’s free to join and very easy to follow through their video tutorials.
  • The user interface is very easy to use even for someone with little experience with computers and working online.
  • If you’re doing a search online then you’ll already be earning rewards on top of that as long as you search on their search engine and not on any of the others such as Google, Yahoo, etc.
  • You can now take part on mobile.
  • It’s also available on the tablet for the Kindle Fire and Nook HD as well as on Android.
  • You have a choice of how you want to spend your Swagbucks.
  • There’s a broad range of prizes to choose from so you won’t get bored on that front!

The Cons:

  • For the amount of effort put in to earn Swagbucks, it takes a lot of time actually to make a success out of it especially when as I was saying roughly one Swagbucks is equal to 1 US cent or not much more.
  • Their search engine isn’t anywhere near what Google’s is so apart from the program the actual quality of their search engine isn’t on par with the best search engines.
  • You are required to wait a week before being able to redeem the rewards you’ve earned.
  • The Amazon gift cards you earn are only available up to $5, which is pretty ridiculous so don’t be relying on Swagbucks for some lovely Christmas vouchers for friends and loved ones!
  • Unfortunately, not everyone can participate in Swagbucks right now as it is only available in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

Who is Swagbucks for?

Swagbucks is for virtually anyone who is already searching for something online, and they would like the opportunity to earn some freebies out of something they are already doing.

You certainly won’t get rich through Swagbucks’s program but as it caters for people from the ages of 13 and up at that age for a lot of teens it’s a good way to earn some prizes etc.

Swagbucks Tools and Training

There are no real tools and training, everything is pretty self-explanatory when you go to their search engine through the online video tutorials and when using mobile all you have to do is download their app.

The lone tool that is offered is Swagbucks toolbar widget plugin that you can install to your Is Swagbucks a Scam?browser which has all of your details so far as how many Swagbucks you’ve currently earned and all of your details which make it easier than having to find the search engine when you start up initially. This toolbar plugin is available to install for Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.

What kind of Support does Swagbucks offer?

Is Swagbucks a Scam? Swagbucks provides support through their help center found in the “contact us” section of their website. If your question isn’t answered correctly, you can then submit a support request. As well as the help center Swagbucks also has an active Facebook community where you can submit your questions.

Swagbucks Price

Right now Swagbucks is free to join for both their online and mobile and tablet platforms.

My overall opinion on Swagbucks

Is Swagbucks a Scam?My overall opinion is that Swagbucks is certainly not a scam but if you’re hoping to get rich off doing surveys etc. for Swagbucks you can forget about it so keep your day job for now!

If you’re looking to build a business online, then check out my number one rated product here.

Don’t get your hopes up by relying on Swagbucks but if you want to earn some extra freebies by simply doing something that you’re already doing anyway i.e. searching online then by all means go for it. The search engine isn’t as good as Google but it’s pretty decent in general and unlike so many scams online which promise to make you a million Swagbucks doesn’t make bizarre claims, and they’re upfront about what you can make out of the program.
